Holly Hill Rehabilitation Unit

Our Rehabilitation Unit offers specialized therapy services including Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy on a short-term basis to individuals who no longer require the acute care of a hospital but are not yet ready to return home. Amenities in include private room, cable television, and refrigerator. Our rehabilitative and medical staff offers the key to successful therapy services that return individuals to health and independence.

We employ Aegis Therapies to provide rehabilitation therapy services to our residents — including physical, occupational, and speech.  Aegis is one of the largest contract rehabilitation companies in the country serving more than 1,000 nursing homes in 37 states. Aegis is known for its clinical excellence, innovative programs, and highly trained therapists.

Aegis creates a care team that includes patients, their families, and their
Nurses. Therapists consult with our nurses to monitor the patient’s medical conditions in order to tailor therapy to each individual’s ability. Therapists also work with families, showing them how to help their loved one reach their therapy goals. In addition to rehabilitation therapy following surgery or accidents, Aegis also will focus on four programs that address problem areas common to seniors:

  • Falls and Balance. Integrated team approach often uncovers less obvious conditions that may affect resident safety.
  • Complex Disease Management. Special assessments and practical care planning is designed for residents whose fragile medical state complicates their functional deficits.
  • Dementia Management. By identifying what a resident can do, therapists are able to treat residents’ strengths to maximize function and safety.
  • Continence Management. Exercises and behavioral changes help residents regain bladder control.

Another reason for selecting Aegis is their ability to measure how well their therapy is working.  Aegis monitors and records the progress of every patient they work with. They compare individual patient improvements to information contained in their extensive national database to demonstrate that each patient is achieving appropriate functional gains. Aegis is one of the few companies that is able to measure clinical outcomes in this manner.”
